The Aydelotte Foundation continues its support of an initiative that helps faculty get to know their colleagues’ scholarly work more deeply. Convened by Professor Grace Ledbetter (Classics and Philosophy), Aydelotte Foundation Faculty Dinner Discussions occur several times a semester. At these dinners, a small group of faculty gathers to discuss a short piece of published work by a colleague. Dinner conversation encompasses a brief presentation of the work by the featured author and also questions posed by the group.
Here’s the schedule for fall 2019 dinners:
- Sept. 30: Nathalie Anderson (English Literature), Thomas Whitman (Music & Dance), and K. Elizabeth Stevens (Theater), “Cassandra: Can We Handle Her Truth?”
- Nov. 11: Osman Balkan (Political Science), “The Cemetery of Traitors”
- Dec. 12: Maggie Delano (Engineering), “Developing a Wearable Monitor for Congestive Heart Failure Management”
